1. PLAR - PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT and RECOGNITION
Did you know? ... 80% of what an adult knows and can do is learned
outside a formal educational institution.
Adults learn in a variety of ways through work experience, on-the-job
training, personal life experiences, reading, travelling, military
life, volunteering etc.
You have accumulated a vast pool of untapped and unrecognized skills,
knowledge and probably have collected many certificates and credentials
over the years. The question is how to use this learning and experience
to advance your career and educational opportunities!
PLAR is a process that will help you identify that knowledge and those
skills. It will show you how to best apply them to achieve your career
or personal life goals.
We are experienced PLAR practitioners and adult educators and will
assist you in a variety of ways. We will present your learning in
a way that will help you achieve your goals. This can be done through
a series of workshops, face-to-face tutoring sessions or through
on-line discussions.
PLAR Sessions are on-going and by appointment
- Days, evenings or Saturday morning
- Held in community locations
arranged by client and facilitator.
Sessions can also be tailored to meet company and employee needs.
PLAR Fees
- One, 2-hour tutoring session (1 or more persons): $100. per
person. Additional 2-hour sessions $80. per person
- Three, 3-hour workshops
(2 or more persons): $300. per person
- On-line sessions - registration,
assessment and advisement $50 plus a negotiated fee thereafter
for any editing or personal tutoring.
2. CAREER COUNSELLING
People entering or re-entering the workforce often want to change
careers. We can help you explore new career options, identify
your transferable skills and develop a strategy to help you move forward
on a new career path. For more information please contact as at legacy5@golden.net.
Career Counselling Fees:
- One , two hour session $ 100.00 per person
- $ 50.00 per person for
each additional hour
